Refuge 31 is thrilled to announce that both The Last Objectors and Steve Bell & Malcolm Guite – Live at the West End have been selected to screen at the Winnipeg Real to Reel Film Festival this February.

Entering its 7th season, the Winnipeg Real to Reel Film Festival has a goal to “… encourage, challenge and inspire us to positive values and a greater understanding of the human journey.” Attendance in 2016 to the multi-day festival was over sixteen hundred film enthusiasts, distributors and filmmakers.

The Last Objectors has already screened at numerous festivals, including the Views of the World Music & Film Festival in Montreal, Canada, where it was a Finalist for Best Documentary, the World Documentary Awards in Bali, Indonesia where it won a Gold Award and finally at the World Humanitarian Awards in Jakarta, Indonesia where it took a Silver World Humanitarian Award.

The feature length concert film Steve Bell & Malcolm Guite – Live at the West End, will have it’s world premiere at Real to Reel in February. The film documents the creative collaboration of Steve Bell and Malcolm Guite in a unique evening of song, poetry and everything in between.

“An incredible display of honesty, brilliance, and faith. Bell and Guite deliver a unique blend of story and song that invariably leaves you with the realization that you have experienced an amazing journey simply by having been around them.”

Paul H. Boge, WR2R Film Festival Coordinator

Live at the West End was cut from footage shot in 2014 as part of the documentary Burning Ember: The Steve Bell Journey, which won Best Feature Documentary at Real to Reel in 2015.

The festival is happening February 21 to 26th. For exact screening times, please check out Winnipeg Real to Reel Film Festival website closer to those dates.
