Refuge 31 is honored and delighted to close 2016 out with an award announcement: The Last Objectors has won a Gold Award at the World Documentary Awards in Indonesia.
World Documentary Awards is the sister festival of the World Film Awards. By establishing this festival, we hope to exhibit the winning international documentary films to the Indonesian and international audience, bolster filmmakers’ assurance to give their best for the film industry, and prevail the film industry internationally.
The film, which examines the Canadian conscientious objectors of the Second World War, has screened in numerous festivals already, including the Views of the World Festival in Montreal where it was nominated for best documentary and the World Humanitarian Awards in Jakarta where it won a Silver Humanitarian Award. The Last Objectors also recently was screened at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
